«Lone Survivor» will be released by Universal in the United States.
«Lone Survivor,» the story of one of America's worst military disasters in Afghanistan, comes to theaters starring Mark Wahlberg as Marcus Luttrell, the sole survivor of the elite commando with the covert mission to kill a top Al Qaeda leader.
The film, directed by Peter Berg and starring Mark Wahlberg, will be distributed in the United States on December 27 by Universal Pictures.
Based on Luttrell's book of the same name, the film is primarily a tribute to the protagonists of Operation Red Wings, which left 19 members of the Navy SEALs, the U.S. Navy's main special operations force, killed by Taliban forces in the remote Afghan province of Kunar, near the Pakistani border, in 1995.
