Synopsis
In the winter of 1952, British authorities entered the home of mathematician, cryptanalyst, and war hero Alan Turing (Benedict Cumberbatch) to investigate a reported burglary—and instead arrested Turing for “gross indecency,” leading to a devastating conviction. They had no idea they were indicting a pioneer of modern computing. Leading a team of scholars, linguists, chess champions, and intelligence officers, he helped crack Germany’s “unbreakable” Enigma codes in World War II—a tense portrait of a complicated genius who helped shorten the war and save countless lives.
